Tio Ximo Cove
Benidorm
One of the most highly recommended coves near Benidorm, hidden among cliffs and part of the Serra Gelada Natural Park.

The best:
Very clean water, perfect for snorkeling.
Very quiet compared to Levante or Poniente.
Natural environment without buildings.
Worst:
No services (no beach bars or showers).
Access is somewhat steep and rocky.
Massified:
💧 Not very crowded if you arrive early, but in summer it can fill up quickly due to limited spaces.
How to get there:
Drive to the Calle Sierra Dorada parking lot and walk down to the cove. There are few spaces, so it's best to arrive before 9:00 am.
City buses also drop you off relatively close if you prefer not to use a car.
Best time:
🌅 Early morning or late afternoon — more beautiful light and fewer people.
Cala L'Almadraba
Benidorm
Very close to Tío Ximo, another small and more "wild" cove in Benidorm, with clear waters and a naturalistic environment.

The best:
A great spot for snorkeling and paddle surfing.
Natural landscape, less urbanized than the main beaches.
Worst:
Access via footpath and without services.
The terrain can be rocky in parts, so proper footwear helps a lot.
Massified:
🌿 Quite peaceful even in high season, due to its more demanding access.
How to get there:
By car and walk from the nearby parking lot in Sierra Helada, or by bike for more convenience.
Best time:
☀️ Morning or afternoon for tranquility and better waters.
La Olla Beach
Altea
La Olla Beach is one of those places that tourists overlook… and that locals value precisely for that reason. Located between Altea and Albir, with direct views of Isla de la Olla, it conveys a much more sophisticated, natural, and relaxed feeling than the crowded beaches of Benidorm.
The best:
Exclusive and relaxed feeling
Spectacular views of Isla de la Olla
Charming beachfront restaurants
Worst:
It's not sand, it's pebbles.
The entry into the water is somewhat more abrupt
Massified:
It never reaches the saturation level of Benidorm.
How to get there:
You can get there directly by car
Parking on nearby streets (usually easy except in August)
Direct access without walking
It is a comfortable and accessible beach.
TIP INSIDER:
Walk towards the ends of the beach, especially in the direction of Albir.
You will find:
fewer people
more natural areas
almost private feeling
That's where the experience becomes truly special.
